Imbolc Ritual and Celebration

We will be celebrating Imbolc at Trout Lake Abbey on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 4:30 pm.. This will be an Irish Gaelic pantheon rite. Bíodh sé amhlaidh!
This is the rite of the first glimmers of spring, and the hope of warmer days ahead. In Ireland, this is a time when the ewes begin to show signs of lactation, and candles are no longer needed to see when milking the cows. Here in Trout Lake this year, we have quite a bit of snow.
We will be honoring the goddess Brigit, transfunctional Lady of poets and the hearth, of workers in metal, and of healing. Appropriate offerings for Brigit include milk and butter, worked metal items, and poetry. Praise offerings are always welcome!
We will hold this rite indoors in the Sanctuary. There will be a potluck following the ritual, held in the main house.
