Dear friends in the Dharma,

We are pleased to invite you to the ceremony welcoming a statue of Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva/ Địa Tạng Bồ Tát to our small temple. (Also known as じぞうぼさつ, Jizō Bosatsu,  地藏菩薩, 지장보살 Jijang Bosal, พระกษิติครรภโพธิสัตว์, Sa Yi Nyingpo, or ས་ཡི་སྙིང་པོ་)   We will also celebrate the arrival of a statue of Di lặc Bồ Tát. (Miroku Bosatsu or Maitreya)

  • 9:00 a.m. Opening prayer.
  • 11:00 a.m. Monk led offering ceremony.

These magnificent statues were carved in Vietnam and shipped to Trout Lake through the generosity, kindness, and hard work of literally hundreds of donors each of which are dedicated to the spreading of the Dharma (the teachings of our historical teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha).

Địa Tạng Bồ Tát took a great vow to rescue all beings in the hell realms. Our hope is that many people will see this beautiful statue and have an opening of their hearts to the Buddha’s Dharma.

We would be very honored if you are able to attend this ceremony.

Our Buddhist temple is in the Vietnamese tradition of the Lâm Tế School of Thiền Buddhism (Chan or Zen).
We are in the process of building a very simple temple on a 23-acre farm near the base of Mt. Adams in Washington State.

Namo Thích Ca Mâu Ni Phật,
May you know the Blessing of The Buddha

May you be well and healthy…
